Family of Nolan Wells Responds to Investigation Allegations
Recent developments in the case of Nolan Wells have led to a public response from the Wells family, addressing claims regarding their cooperation with authorities. The family is keen to clarify their stance amid ongoing investigations.
The legal representatives of Nolan Wells’ family have clarified that they initially consented to a joint review of Nolan’s phone with the District Attorney’s office last month. However, despite this agreement, a specific date for the examination was not determined during the meeting.
Almost a month later, the District Attorney’s office issued a letter to the Wonsley family requesting the phone’s submission by 9 a.m. on August 14, leaving them with less than 48 hours to comply. Unfortunately, Nolan’s parents were out of town at the time, making it impossible to meet the deadline.
The family’s legal team highlighted the absence of a “forensic protocol” to govern the inspection, including details on the scope, method, chain of custody, data preservation, and device return. They have requested the District Attorney’s office to propose such a protocol, stating that the examination could proceed immediately upon agreement.
Nolan Wells attended a July Fourth gathering on a barrier island near Mississippi’s coast with friends, who returned without him. He was reported missing the following day, and his body was discovered off the coast, prompting questions about the circumstances of his death.
Concerns have been raised over the perceived lack of accountability from the group of friends who left Nolan behind. A crowdfunding effort was initiated by them on GiveSaveGo, a platform often used by controversial figures. Additionally, they recently appeared on Brandon Tatum’s podcast, drawing further scrutiny.
The Wells family continues to seek transparency and answers regarding Nolan’s death, amidst challenges in the investigative process.
