Former School Employee Faces Numerous Charges in Disturbing Voyeurism Case
In a shocking development, Tempe police have filed nearly 100 additional charges against a former employee of Corona Del Sol High School. The individual, Anthony Cruz, was initially apprehended in August for allegedly recording videos of female students while they changed in the dance room, a temporary facility used during locker room renovations.
Cruz’s arrest originally included seven counts of voyeurism. However, according to Officer Jessica Ells, further investigation revealed a total of 38 victims, leading to 98 more counts of voyeurism being added. Officer Ells explained, “We were essentially able to identify a total of 38 victims, and from those victims, we were able to add 98 more counts of voyeurism, which is a Class 5 felony.”
The security camera that captured the unauthorized footage was meant for monitoring an external door and was reportedly supposed to be turned off. Unfortunately, it was mistakenly left operational, leaving students unknowingly exposed to the violation. Officer Ells emphasized that the students could not have prevented the invasion of their privacy.
In addition to these charges, Cruz is also confronted with two separate counts of bestiality related to the possession of illicit videos involving animals.
