Amtrak’s ‘Trak Suit Could Make a Return Due to High Demand
Amtrak’s unique fashion innovation, the ‘Trak Suit,’ has captured the interest of consumers, leading to the possibility of a larger release. Designed by Anastasiia Lukinskaia, a student from the New York School of Design, this attire combines style with practicality, featuring a detachable sleep mask, color block pants, and the iconic Amtrak logo.
The suit, which was available for purchase at $279 on Amtrak’s website, was sold out within a four-day period from January 29 to February 2. Its unexpected popularity has prompted Amtrak to consider a second release.
“Given the great response we are seeing from fans, we are evaluating an extension or second run,” an Amtrak representative told Business Insider. “If we choose to mass produce these in larger quantities, we may even consider a few different versions of the design at different price points.”

The creation of the ‘Trak Suit’ stemmed from Amtrak’s initiative during the launch of its NextGen Acela train in August 2025. For this event, Amtrak collaborated with seven students from the New York School of Design, tasking them with designing two tracksuits to be showcased at the New York Fashion Week in fall 2025.
Jessica Davidson, Amtrak’s Vice President, Digital & Brand Management, highlighted the positive reception: “When we revealed the ‘Trak Suits collection during fashion week in New York, the response from our fans was incredible,” she stated in a press release.
The success of this limited edition suggests that Amtrak may explore mass production with potential variations in design and pricing, catering to a wider audience. For those who missed it the first time, there might soon be an opportunity to own this trendy yet functional piece of travel wear.
