Epstein’s 2013 Attempt to Visit SpaceX with Foreign Nationals Revealed

Epstein’s Attempt to Visit SpaceX with Foreign Nationals Raises Security Concerns

Jeffrey Epstein’s controversial efforts to tour SpaceX’s headquarters in 2013 have surfaced in newly released emails. The communications, made public by the U.S. Justice Department, reveal Epstein’s intention to bring three foreign nationals with him, stirring unease within the Elon Musk-led company.

The individuals, identified in the emails as Epstein’s “assistants” or “girls,” included two Russians and a South African. Correspondence between Lesley Groff, Epstein’s long-time executive assistant, and Mary Beth Brown, Musk’s former aide, indicates that while Epstein completed his visit, the women were restricted to the lobby area.

Epstein’s visit to SpaceX is yet another instance of his attempts to connect with influential figures. Despite his 2009 release from jail, Epstein’s actions continued to push boundaries. Though his death in 2019 was ruled a suicide, the disclosure of millions of pages of his personal emails offers a glimpse into his methods.

Previous accounts confirmed Epstein’s visit to the Hawthorne, California facility of SpaceX, but the specifics of his entourage were previously unknown. SpaceX, known for its role in transporting astronauts for NASA and launching satellites for the U.S. military, adheres to strict International Traffic in Arms Regulations, limiting access primarily to U.S. citizens.

SpaceX has not responded to Bloomberg News’ requests for comment, and in 2020, Musk stated on social media that, to his knowledge, Epstein “never toured SpaceX.” However, the newly released emails from January 30 reveal over 20 emails exchanged between their assistants and direct interactions between Epstein and Musk, arranging the February 2013 visit.

Musk even advised Epstein on the preferred airport for a swift arrival at SpaceX. A lunch meeting was organized for February 25, with discussions spanning dietary needs and the entourage accompanying Epstein. “Jeffrey is a U.S. citizen but he will have assistants with him who are not,” Groff mentioned in one email. “They all have passports and proper paperwork. I’m pretty sure he will bring them all with him. Will this be ok?”

Musk’s assistant requested passport scans for security reasons but ultimately informed Groff that the foreign nationals could not partake in the full tour. “They are welcome to come into the lobby area/conference room adjacent to the lobby,” Musk’s aide noted, adding that lunch would be provided, though they couldn’t access the main facility.

The emails confirm Epstein’s arrival with the women, but it’s unclear how far they were able to proceed within the facility. Epstein later emailed Musk to express gratitude: “thanks for the tour, you would have had fun at xmas.” Musk’s brief reply was, “I see,” accompanied by a smiling face emoji.
