A Guilty Plea in the Theft of Unreleased Beyoncé Music
In a case that caught the attention of music fans, a man has admitted to charges related to the theft of unreleased music by pop icon Beyoncé. Kelvin Evans, 41, confessed to entering an automobile and committing criminal trespass during a court appearance in Fulton County Superior Court on Tuesday. Evans received a two-year prison sentence for his actions.
The incident dates back to last July when Evans broke into a rented Jeep Wagoneer. The vehicle, leased by Beyoncé’s choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue, was parked in Atlanta. Upon returning to the car on July 8, Grant and Blue discovered that the trunk window had been smashed, and two suitcases were missing.
Among the stolen items were hard drives containing unreleased music, concert set lists, and footage plans. These valuable assets were taken just two days before Beyoncé’s series of performances at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, part of her “Cowboy Carter” tour. Despite the theft, the tour continued as planned.
Evans was apprehended in August after surveillance footage captured the break-in. However, the stolen hard drives and other belongings have yet to be recovered, leaving fans to speculate about the fate of the unreleased music. More details on the case can be found on the AP News website.
