Arizona’s Job Growth to Surpass National Average, Says OEO Report

Arizona’s Employment Growth Set to Outpace National Average Over the Next Decade

In a promising forecast for Arizona’s job market, the state is expected to outperform the national employment growth rate over the next decade. The Office of Economic Opportunity anticipates a significant increase of more than 454,000 jobs, translating to an annual growth rate of 1.2% from 2024 to 2034.

Leading this expansion are key sectors such as health care, social assistance, and construction, each projected to grow by over two percent annually. The rising demand for health care services is largely attributed to the aging population across the United States, according to the OEO.

Manufacturing is also expected to experience notable growth during this period. Furthermore, all of Arizona’s 15 counties are projected to see an increase in employment, with Maricopa County leading the charge in job creation.
