Sean “Diddy” Combs Denies Allegations of Assault by Dawn Richard

Allegations of Violence and Threats Surface in Sean Combs Case

In a gripping testimony, Dawn Richard, a singer from Danity Kane, took the stand on May 16 as the fifth prosecution witness in the ongoing legal proceedings against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Richard’s account of events from 2009 paints a disturbing picture of violence involving Combs and his then-girlfriend, Ventura.

Recalling a specific incident, Richard testified that Combs became enraged over a delay in dinner preparation. “Where’s my fucking egg?” she quoted him yelling as he stormed into the kitchen of his rented Los Angeles mansion. According to Richard, Combs then attempted to hit Ventura with a skillet, causing her to fall to the ground.

The testimony further described how Ventura was left cowering on the kitchen floor in a fetal position while Combs allegedly punched and kicked her. Richard stated that Combs then dragged Ventura upstairs by her hair, where sounds of screaming and breaking glass followed.

The following day, Richard claimed that Combs called both her and Ventura to the mansion’s first-floor recording studio. “He said that what we saw was passion, and it was what lovers in a relationship do,” Richard recounted. Combs allegedly warned them about the consequences of speaking out, stating, “he was trying to take us to the top, and that, where he comes from, people go missing if they say things like that, like, if people talk.” Richard said Combs concluded the meeting by giving them flowers.

Returning to the stand on May 19, Richard emphasized that she perceived these comments as a direct threat to her life. The defense, led by attorney Marc Agnifilo, expressed surprise and skepticism over the new information. Agnifilo described Richard’s testimony as prejudicial and untrue, stating, “It didn’t happen,” and pointing out that Ventura had not mentioned such an incident during her four days of testimony.

During cross-examination, Richard acknowledged that this was the first time she had mentioned the alleged threat, having not included it in previous interviews with prosecutors. This revelation came about only in discussions earlier this month.
