Michigan Primary Election: Candidates and Ballot Information
Absentee ballots in Michigan have been sent out, with Election Day for the primary set on August 4. To ensure your vote counts, remember that postmarks do not count, except for military and overseas ballots, which must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by the local clerk within six days after the election.
Early voting begins the second Saturday before Election Day and concludes the Sunday before the election. When casting your vote, you will need to select which partisan section of the ballot you wish to fill out.

Candidates for Attorney General and Secretary of State will be selected at their party’s nomination convention, and thus are not on the primary ballots but will appear on the general election ballots.
