Trump Accounts Initiative Reaches $125 Million in Contributions

A remarkable new investment initiative, termed Trump Accounts, has swiftly gained momentum, amassing $125 million merely five days post-launch. This initiative, designed for children born between 2025 and 2028, has drawn significant attention and contributions from prominent figures and corporations.

According to an X post by the White House on Thursday evening, “THIS is what investing in the future looks like.” The post highlighted the rapid success of the program, stating, “In just five days since launch, American families have contributed nearly $125 million to Trump Accounts.”

Launched on July 4, Trump Accounts are investment accounts that the US Treasury has committed to endowing with $1,000 for each eligible child. The program has seen substantial backing from high-profile business leaders and companies.

Among the notable contributors is Gwynne Shotwell, president of SpaceX, who, along with her husband, donated SpaceX stock. Shotwell shared her motivation in an X post, aiming for the stock to benefit children between 11 and 17 years old living near her Texas home, particularly those from lower-income households. President Donald Trump praised Shotwell’s generous contribution in a Truth Social post, stating, “Thank you to the brilliant and highly respected Gwynne Shotwell, and her husband, Robert, for their extreme generosity in helping children to attain the ever magnificent American dream!”

Other influential donors include Michael Dell, CEO of Dell Technologies, and his wife, Susan; hedge fund manager Ray Dalio and his wife; Brad Gerstner, CEO of Altimeter Capital; and rapper Nicki Minaj. Michael Dell emphasized the significance of the initiative in an X post: “This makes every child a shareholder in the greatest prosperity-creating engine the world has ever known — American capitalism.” Find out more about other donors here.

President Trump also commended the Dells for their $6.25 billion contribution, recommending the purchase of Dell products, “They are truly incredible people. Go out and buy a Dell computer.”
