Arizona Bill Targets Climate and Weather Modification
In a surprising legislative move, Arizona is considering making climate and weather modification efforts a felony. This initiative, introduced by Senator John Kavanagh (R-Fountain Hills), aims to prohibit any attempts to alter environmental conditions such as temperature, climate, or weather patterns.
The bill emerges amidst ongoing debates about geoengineering, a subject previously targeted by Republican lawmakers. Although recent cloud seeding efforts in Pinal County have stirred controversy, Kavanagh clarified that his proposal is primarily driven by concerns among his constituents regarding chemtrails.
Kavanagh acknowledged the speculative nature of chemtrails but emphasized the precautionary purpose of the legislation. “If somebody’s doing it, it’ll stop them, and if somebody has a good reason to do that, you know, then I think we should pass a bill to permit a particular dispersal of chemicals,” he explained.
Chemtrails, a topic of an unsubstantiated theory, are believed by some to involve the government dispersing chemicals into the atmosphere for purposes like mind control or weather manipulation. Proponents of this theory often attribute visible condensation trails from aircraft to such activities.
Cloud seeding, a more scientifically recognized method, involves introducing substances like salts into clouds to enhance precipitation. While this technique has practical applications, the proposed bill seeks to regulate any similar attempts to interfere with natural weather events.
Violating the proposed legislation could result in fines reaching $100,000. However, Kavanagh assured that the bill would not affect activities such as burning greenhouse gases or the use of chemicals by firefighters during emergencies.
