Tempe Town Lake is about to offer an innovative water adventure, thanks to a new collaboration with the city of Tempe. The Tempe Boat Cruisin’ project introduces cycle boat rides that accommodate up to 26 guests on this well-known reservoir.
Arizona Party Bike, a local entertainment service, played a crucial role in launching this initiative.
These cycle boats are a unique blend of a party bike and a boat, equipped with pedals for guests to propel the craft. Nevertheless, the operation of the boats is managed by a professional captain and crew.

This partnership aims to expand recreational offerings for the community.
Robert Mayer, the founder of Arizona Party Bike, believes these boats will be ideal for events like birthday parties or corporate gatherings.
“You’ll have a couple of different options for booking. You can book a private party where it would just be your group on board. I will also have some public cruises available,” Mayer explained.
He emphasizes the importance of access to the lake, noting, “It’s the only urban lake in the entire Valley. It’s the only way that people can easily enjoy the water within a 15-20 minute drive almost anywhere in the Valley.”
While pricing details are still being determined, Mayer suggests that the cost might range between $49 and $59.
The official launch is planned for mid-January, with public access expected by the end of the month.
