New Agreement Allows Mexico Access to U.S. Drone Technology
In a move to enhance strategic cooperation between neighboring countries, Mexico and the United States have signed a significant agreement granting the Mexican military access to the U.S. market for drone and anti-drone systems.
During a visit to Mexico, U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll signed the document, paving the way for Mexico to utilize the U.S. Army’s resources in unmanned aerial systems and counter-unmanned aircraft systems.
U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, highlighted the importance of this agreement on social media, noting that it will strengthen both nations’ efforts in combating drug cartels.

The agreement comes at a time when drug cartels based in Mexico are increasingly employing drone technology for a range of illicit activities. These criminal organizations have been known to utilize drones for surveillance, smuggling contraband, and engaging in confrontations with rival groups and law enforcement.
