Michigan’s 2026 Election: Early Voting Numbers and Campaign Updates

Michigan Sees Record Early Voter Turnout for 2026 Election

Michigan’s upcoming 2026 election is making history as early voter turnout reaches unprecedented levels. According to the Michigan Secretary of State office, a total of 986,189 active registered voters have already cast their ballots, accounting for 13.3% of the state’s electorate.

Of these early voters, 983,101 have opted for absentee ballots, while 3,088 have chosen to vote early in-person. The trend of in-person early voting is expected to surge this weekend as the election day approaches.

Both the Democratic and Republican parties are intensifying their efforts in Michigan, with prominent figures making appearances to rally support. Former President Barack Obama is scheduled to boost the Democratic campaign in Detroit, while President Donald Trump will be endorsing Republican candidates in Port Huron.

While there are several significant races and issues on the ballot, the spotlight nationally is on the battle for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat. The competition between Democratic nominee Abdul El Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers is fierce, with the outcome potentially shaping the balance of power in the U.S. Senate.
