Pennsylvania voters made their voices heard on Tuesday by choosing to retain Supreme Court Justice David Wecht. This decision marks a win for the Democratic Party, which has been working to preserve its 5-2 majority on the state’s highest court.
Justice Wecht, who first joined the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 2016, will continue to serve following the nonpartisan retention election. These elections allow voters to decide whether a judge should continue for another 10-year term through a straightforward yes or no vote.
The Associated Press announced the retention of Justice Wecht at 9:51 EST.
