Arizona GOP Sees Surge in Support, Yet Democrats Retain Overall Lead
Amid heightened political activities, Republican candidates in Arizona have witnessed a notable increase in backing from their party’s voters, according to a recent poll. Despite this, Democratic candidates continue to hold a lead in major state races.
Republican support has climbed from 70% to 80% among GOP voters, a rise attributed to recent campaign efforts and a visit to the state by President Donald Trump earlier this month. This increase is particularly evident among voters aged 50 and above.
Chuck Coughlin, CEO of Highground Public Affairs—the organization behind the poll—remarked on this trend. “They’re typical pretty heavy Republicans for those older voters, but they were losing them a month ago. And now Republicans seem to be gaining with that age cohort,” he said.
Despite these gains, Democrats continue to hold a substantial lead in the races for governor, secretary of state, and attorney general. Furthermore, Democrats are also bolstering their support among women and independent voters, highlighting a diverse and expanding base.
