Residents of Phoenix can finally anticipate a break from the relentless heat, according to Ryan Worley, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service in Phoenix. A shift in weather patterns is expected to bring cooler temperatures as the current heatwave subsides.
“After [Thursday], that heat warning will be allowed to expire and we should actually be looking at some cooler temperatures, cooler relatively speaking of course, headed into the weekend and into next week,” Worley said.
For those seeking respite from the heat, Maricopa County offers free transportation to cooling centers between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. Residents can arrange rides by dialing 211.
