Innovative Paint Solution Helps Cool FIFA Fan Fest in Houston
In Houston, where temperatures can soar, an Arizona company’s invention is ensuring that soccer fans stay cool during the World Cup events. EnKoat, known for its innovative cooling paint, has effectively turned metal bleachers into cooler seating areas at the FIFA fan fest.
EnKoat’s unique paint acts similarly to an ice pack by lowering the metal surface temperatures. This groundbreaking application was made possible after a member of FIFA’s sustainability committee reached out to the company, highlighting the importance of sustainable solutions in large-scale events.
Matthew Aguayo, EnKoat’s co-founder, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We’re excited to be a part of, you know, something as big as FIFA on a global stage, and that’s sort of how that came to fruition.”
The cooling paint not only addresses comfort but also tackles a significant environmental challenge. Aguayo noted, “That extreme heat is part of a bigger problem, which is extreme weather. And ultimately, what we’re doing is developing a platform for thermal management across infrastructure.”
Beyond sports events, EnKoat’s technology has broader applications. The company has successfully implemented its cooling solutions for structures like buildings, roofs, and walls. It has previously contributed to lowering temperatures at a major data center in Texas and a police training facility in Chandler.
As the demand for sustainable cooling solutions grows, EnKoat’s innovative approach showcases how technology can enhance comfort while addressing pressing environmental issues.
