Ex-Arizona AG Employee Sentenced to Probation for Jewelry Theft

Former Arizona Attorney General’s Office Employee Sentenced for Jewelry Theft

In a recent legal development, a former division chief at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office has been sentenced to probation following charges related to a jewelry theft. Vanessa Dailey, who previously went by the name Vanessa Hickman, was found guilty of theft and trafficking stolen property earlier this year.

Dailey faced legal troubles after receiving a package mistakenly delivered to her, containing valuable jewelry worth tens of thousands of dollars. Although she eventually returned the package, a bracelet was notably missing from its contents.

The investigation revealed that Dailey had sold the missing bracelet online for $750. This led to her being placed on administrative leave and eventually resigning from her position amid the ongoing criminal investigation.

Richie Taylor, spokesperson for Attorney General Kris Mayes, commented on the situation, stating, “The Attorney General’s Office cooperated with their investigation. Ms. Hickman resigned on Monday.”

As a result of her actions, Dailey has been sentenced to a probationary period of two years.
