As Arizona kicks off National School Choice Week, a spotlight is being cast on the diverse educational avenues available to families seeking the best fit for their children’s K–12 education. This annual event is celebrated both in Arizona and nationwide, promoting awareness about educational choices.
Throughout the state, over 1,020 schools and organizations are participating, hosting various events such as school fairs in key cities like Phoenix and Tucson. These activities aim to inform parents about the educational options available to their children.
Governor Katie Hobbs has issued a proclamation declaring January 25–31 as “Arizona School Choice Week,” underscoring the importance of educational choice for families across the state.
In Arizona, parents can choose from a wide array of educational settings, including public, charter, magnet, private, online, home, and non-traditional schools. A comprehensive guide to these options is available for free at: schoolchoiceweek.com/arizona.
“Arizona’s school choice is vast, offering parents the exciting prospect of sending their child to any school regardless of their background,” stated Laura Ciscomani, the MPA executive director of NavigatEd AZ.
Andrew Campanella, CEO of the National School Choice Awareness Foundation, emphasized, “Our goal is to make sure that parents in the Grand Canyon State have timely, accurate, and jargon-free information so that they understand the choices available to them and feel confident in navigating those choices.”
National School Choice Week, organized by the nonprofit National School Choice Awareness Foundation, continues until January 31, 2026. The week is dedicated to highlighting the educational opportunities available to families, ensuring that every child can access the learning environment that best suits their needs.
