F.E. Warren AFB Investigates Latest Airman Death Amid Recent Incidents

Tragic Incident at F.E. Warren Air Force Base Sparks Investigation

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The F.E. Warren Air Force Base experienced a somber morning on Wednesday, Oct. 8, when an active-duty airman from the 90th Missile Wing was discovered deceased. This news was confirmed in a statement released by the base.

Efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding this tragic event have been initiated by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations along with base leadership. Authorities have assured that there is no apparent threat to the local community. At this time, the identity of the airman remains undisclosed as next-of-kin notifications are underway.

Col. Terrance Holmes, commander of the 90th Missile Wing, expressed his sorrow, stating, “It is with deep sadness that we face the loss of a member of the Mighty Ninety, and on behalf of our entire team, I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the lost individual.” He further emphasized the availability of support services for affected families and airmen, urging anyone in need to seek assistance.

This incident is the latest in a series of violent occurrences involving personnel from the Wyoming base. Earlier in the year, a recreational shooting accident in Platte County led to a Verizon worker being injured by a stray bullet, which was linked to off-duty Air Force personnel from Warren.

Further adding to the base’s recent troubles, Airman Brayden Lovan, aged 21, lost his life in July 2025 during a firearms incident on base. A Sig Sauer M18 pistol was involved, resulting in a temporary halt on its use for safety checks. Following this, an airman was arrested in August, charged with involuntary manslaughter, making a false official statement, and obstructing justice related to Lovan’s death. More information can be found in the detailed report.

A separate incident occurred on August 16, when Senior Airman Joshua Aragon was fatally shot in a Cheyenne apartment. The investigation revealed that Airman Jadan Orr discharged an AK-47, resulting in Aragon’s death. Orr has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. More details are available here.

Additionally, on Sept. 30, the death of Airman 1st Class Marcus E. Jackson, aged 20, was reported at an off-base location in Fort Collins, Colorado. As per the Coloradoan, the Larimer County coroner concluded that the event was a murder-suicide, with Jackson being responsible for the death of 18-year-old Alyssa Reardon before he took his own life. The base confirmed Jackson’s death and is actively cooperating with the investigation. Further information can be found in the report.

These incidents collectively highlight a troubling pattern, with four servicemembers and one civilian losing their lives since July, besides another civilian injury, all linked to the base personnel. The base stated that further details regarding the Oct. 8 incident will be provided as the investigation progresses.
