FBI Arrests Phoenix School Employee Over Child Pornography Charges
In a recent development that has sent shockwaves through a Phoenix community, a school employee has been taken into custody by the FBI. The individual, identified as Manuel Pantoja, faces serious allegations involving the possession and receipt of child pornography.
Pantoja, who began working with the Washington Elementary School District in 2023, served as an instructional assistant for the Special Needs Preschool Program and the After-School Academy Program. His tenure at the district has now been put on hold, as he has been placed on administrative leave pending a recommendation for termination at an upcoming board meeting.
His assignment was at Desert View Elementary School, and current investigations have found no evidence implicating students from the school in the ongoing case.
Principal John Mospan of Desert View Elementary reached out to families with a reassuring letter. He stated, “We are fully cooperating with law enforcement as their investigation continues. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. All WESD employees, including Mr. Pantoja, are required to complete a comprehensive background and fingerprint check prior to working with students.”
The Washington Elementary School District emphasizes its commitment to student safety and is working closely with investigators to ensure transparency and accountability in this matter.
